The Board of Directors has fixed Tuesday May 12, 2009 as the date for the Company's Annual Meeting to consider the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2008.

 

The Board has decided not to declare a Final Dividend for the year ended December 31, 2008, due to the current regional and global economic and financial uncertainty and the need to use internally generated cash to complete the Group's capacity expansion project in Jamaica.

The Board of Directors has declined to pay an Interim dividend  for the year 2007.  This is due to "the heavy demands of the expansion and modernisation programme on cashflows". The Company says that the expansion and modernisation programme at Caribbean Cement Company Limited , Jamaica continues on schedule, with commissioning of the new kiln expected in early 2008

This represents a 9.3% increase over the $17.84 paid in respect of the 2002 financial year.
The proposed dividend is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting to be held on May 14, 2004.

The share register of DEMTOCO will be closed for the period 23thApril - 14th May, 2004 with both days being inclusive to facilitate the payment of the Final dividend.

DEMTOCO proposes $3.40 per share First Interim Dividend 2004
 The Directors of DEMTOCO have also met and proposed the First Interim dividend for 2004 of $3.40 per share payable to those shareholders on the register as at May 26, 2004.

GBTI proposes a $1.50 per share Final Dividend for 2003

The 2003 Annual Report of GBTI reports that the Board of Directors has proposed a Final dividend of $1.50 per share, together with an Interim payment of $0.50, brings the total dividends paid to $2.0 in respect of the financial year 2003, a 33% increase over the $1.50 paid in respect of the 2002 financial year.

The proposed dividend is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting to be held on April 29, 2004.

Banks DIH Ltd proposes $0.12 Final Dividend and 1 for 4 Bonus Issue
 The Directors of Banks DIH Ltd met on 15 January 2003 and proposed a Final dividend of $0.12 per share. Together with the Interim dividend of $0.10 declared this brings the total dividend in respect of the 2003 financial year to $0.22, an 18.5% fall over the $0.27 paid in respect of the 2002 financial year.

Additionally, a bonus issue of stocks in the proportion of one share for every four shares held by the shareholders was proposed. This action would bring the total number of shares issued and fully paid from 705,375,000 to 881,718,750.

These proposed corporate actions are subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting.

Citizens Bank Inc. proposes $0.5 per share Final Dividend
The Directors of Citizens Bank Inc. met on 22 December 2003 and proposed a Final dividend of $0.5 per share. Together with the Interim dividend of $0.3 declared this brings the total dividend in respect of the 2003 financial year to $0.8, a 14.3% increase over the $0.7 paid in respect of the 2002 financial year. The proposed dividend is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting.
Demerara Bank Ltd proposes a $0.11 per share Final Dividend
The 2003 Annual Report of Demerara Bank Limited reports that the Board of Directors has proposed a Final dividend of $0.11 per share, a 10.0% increase over the $0.10 paid in respect of the 2002 financial year. The proposed dividend is subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting.

Removal of the Guyana National Co-operative Bank from GASCI Secondary List
Shares in the Guyana National Co-operative Bank (mnemonic: NCB) have been removed from the secondary list of GASCI with immediate effect. As such shares in Guyana National Co-operative Bank are no longer eligible for trading on the exchange.

This follows the de-registration of the Guyana National Co-operative Bank as a reporting issuer by the Guyana Securities Council on the 10 November 2003 by Order number 001.

The Directors of Banks DIH Ltd met on 25th September 2003 and approved an Interim dividend of $0.1 per share which was paid in October 2003.
